Explore the world of CPD
Established in 1996, The CPD Certification Service is an independent organisation with over 30 years’ experience providing CPD accreditation. With members in over 100 countries, our CPD providers benefit from the ability to promote themselves as part of an international community.
Step One
Understand the Requirements
- The first step towards getting your training course accredited is understanding what the accreditation body requires. For instance, CPD Accreditation Services looks at various factors such as the structure of your course content, learning objectives, teaching methods used and assessment methods implemented.
Step Two
Develop High-Quality Course Content
- Your course content must be high-quality and relevant to meet accreditation standards.
- It should provide learners with new skills or knowledge that they can apply in their professional lives.
- The course should also be structured in a way that facilitates easy understanding and learning.
Step Three
Apply for Accreditation
- Once you’re confident your course meets the necessary requirements, you can apply for accreditation. This usually involves submitting your course materials for review by the accreditation body. They will assess whether your course meets their standards and provides genuine learning value.
How does CPD accreditation work?
The CPD accreditation process at The CPD Group follows three stages. First, an organisation or individual registers as an approved CPD Provider — this is free and establishes that the organisation meets the fundamental criteria required to deliver CPD. Second, individual activities are submitted for assessment. Third, The CPD Group’s specialist team evaluates each submission individually against the A.C.C.R.E.D.I.T.E.D Framework.
The A.C.C.R.E.D.I.T.E.D Framework assesses every submission across eight dimensions: Accuracy, Credibility, Clarity, Relevance, Engagement, Delivery, Impact, and Transparency of Evidence. If an activity meets the required standard, it is approved and listed on The CPD Register with a unique, verifiable accreditation number. If improvements are needed, the team provides detailed feedback and works with the provider to achieve accreditation.
